Composite Manufacturing Engineer

A Composite Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting the manufacturing processes used to produce high-quality composite components. They work closely with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to customer specifications.

Key responsibilities typically include:

  • Developing and optimising composite manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve quality, reduce waste, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Designing and implementing tooling, fixtures, and production methods.
  • Investigating production issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
